Our journey spans continents, shaped by a belief that true success lies in exploration — not just the pursuit of excellence, but the desire to make a meaningful impact. This spirit was inspired by Co-founder Dave Dooley’s father, Garth Dooley, a Jamaican who came to the UK during the Windrush era.

His global adventures laid the foundation of our brand, embodying the value of seeking new horizons. At the same time, Dave’s mother, born in Nigeria and deeply rooted in tradition and family, instilled in him a profound respect for cultural heritage and community.

It’s at the intersection of wanderlust and tradition that Expedition Whisky was born.

The inaugural Expedition release - a distinguished 33-year-old Macallan with plenty of depth, complexity and intrigue symbolises our commitment to excellence from the outset. It represents Scottish mastery in whisky-making and marks just the beginning of our expedition. In the coming months and years, we'll continue our journey through Scotland's legendary distilleries, with plans to unveil treasures from Port Ellen and Springbank.

Each release is carefully chosen not just for its provenance, but for its story and character.

To chart this journey, we’ve created three collections: Pinnacle — our crown jewel — features rare, aged expressions from across Scotland and beyond; Chronicles presents premium middle range whiskies built around storytelling and legacy; and Meridian offers an approachable core range for both newcomers and seasoned enthusiasts.

Dave Dooley is the Co-founder of Expedition Whisky, a brand inspired by his multicultural upbringing and a shared discovery with his father. Born in Nigeria and raised between West Africa and the UK, Dave brings an explorer’s mindset to independent bottling, reimagining rare Spirits through culture, storytelling, and a spirit of adventure.

Bonnar Fulton is a whisky industry professional and Director of Expedition Whisky, with experience spanning brand development, cask sales, and immersive storytelling. Bonnar helped to launch the chivas brothers “success is a blend” campaign in Manila, Philippines and was part of the Johnnie Walker Princes Street opening team in September 2021. His global journey led to a partnership with the Dooley’s and the founding of Expedition Whisky, built on a shared vision to explore and celebrate exceptional Scotch.

Garth Dooley is the Co-founder and Chairman of Expedition Whisky, a seasoned entrepreneur with a 40-year career spanning Africa, Asia, and the Americas. Born in Jamaica and shaped by Scottish and Irish heritage, Garth’s path from maritime security to energy leadership, reflects a global outlook and deep operational experience. A chance encounter with Springbank whisky in South Africa sparked a shared passion with his son, Dave, forming the foundation of a brand rooted in legacy, craftsmanship, and cross-cultural connection.
